Bridge the Gap with Women in Skilled Trades and Technologies: Saskatchewan’s Summit - Proceedings Report Posted — January 30, 2012
Over 70 Saskatchewan industry, training and government stakeholders gathered in Saskatoon May 6, 2011 to examine issues and discuss strategies to increase women’s participation in skilled trades and technologies. The participants also looked at ways to support employers in recruiting, hiring, training and retaining women in the skilled trades and technologies.

The Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship (SYA) Industry Scholarship encourages Saskatchewan youth to complete the SYA Program and enter into a career in a skilled trade within two years of high school graduation.
For 2011-2012, the number of scholarships to be awarded through participating Saskatchewan high schools will increase from 40 to 80; that means more youth than ever will benefit. A minimum of 20 scholarships will be awarded to SYA graduates through internal SATCC processes.
